5 Affordable Things To Do In Bergen County

1. Bowl at Brunswick Zone Fair Lawn Lanes

2. Hike at Ramapo Valley County Reservation

The Ramapo Valley County Reservation is 3,310 acres of beautiful Bergen County scenery. The Reservation has more than 12 trails, ranging from 0.3 to 3.5 miles.  Smaller trails near the parking lot are perfect for a casual stroll with a friend or pet dog. Fish in one of the many lakes and ponds found around the reservation.  Fishing is only allowed with a current New Jersey fishing license.  Camping is available only to those who receive a permit.

3. Play at Monster Mini Golf

4. Explore at Van Saun County Park

Throughout Van Saun County Park's 146 acres there are many attractions and activities that people will enjoy.  Here you will find a 1.5 mile trail used for walking, jogging, and biking.  Kids will love the playgrounds.  Get your family and friends together and play a game of tennis, soccer, basketball, or softball on one of the many courts or fields available.  Visit one of these additional attractions for a fee; carousel, miniature train rides, pony rides, and the Bergen County Zoological Park.

5. Swim and Relax at Darlington County Park

Tired of traveling for what seems like hours down Garden State Parkway South just to go the beach for the day? Cool off at the sandy beaches at Darlington County Park.  There are three lakes spread out among the 178 acres of the park, two are strictly for swimming, while the third is for fishing.  Play basketball, tennis, or handball on the various courts available.  Pack a cooler, some snacks, and enjoy in the wooded picnic area.

Cost: $2.00-$15.00 per person for a day, prices vary on age, day of week, and county residency.
