Food Truck Craze

The Food Truck craze has taken the world by storm in recent years, and Bergen County is no exception. While there has been some struggle to allow Food Trucks in the area, read BergenCounty.com's article Why are Food Trucks so hard to find in Bergen County to learn more about the issue, this summer is still the perfect time to enjoy some of the few local food truck favorites.

Here is a list compiled from Bergen Mama, NorthJersey.com and BergenCounty.com's Food Truck Picks:

Pizza Vita: With a wide selection of homemade Italian favorites, including pizza and gelato, their food truck travels all around New York and New Jersey 7-days a week. They frequent farmers markets, street fairs and sporting events throughout the area, check their Twitter page for updates on events and locations.

Callahan's Hot Dog Truck: Winner of (201) Magazine's Best Food Truck, this local family favorite hits a home-run with their take on an American specialty. This food truck will also be parked at Van Saun Park in Paramus all summer long.

Oink and Moo BBQ: Nothing is more summertime then seasoned BBQ classics, including brisket, pulled pork sliders and chili. All made with fresh ingredients which will leave even the grilling professionals drooling for more. Here is a list of their events, and you can sign up for their email list to get frequent food truck location updates.

Rosie's Weenie Wagon: Rosie has perfected the art of "dawgz" with her wide array of toppings. She will be Palisades Interstate Park this summer.

French Quarter Truck: Truck owner Jay brings his love of New Orleans cuisine to New Jersey with Po' Boy's and Gumbo.  This truck was also already stationed at Woodcliff Lake's Municipal Pool, and will most likely be returning throughout the summer.

Polkadot Cupcake Truck: Got a sweet tooth? Look no further than the Polkadot Cupcake Truck which cruises around Northern NJ and even features gluten-free desserts! You can check out their calendar events here or track their updates on their Facebook page.
