Habitat for Humanity: The Habitat for Humanity in Bergen County accepts online donations and also hosts multiple events in the warmer weather including the 4th Annual Golf Invitational. It also offers weekly construction trips for the Sandy Restoration Project. Check out their volunteer calendar here.
Table to Table: Their mission is to provide perishable and prepared food that would otherwise go unused to hungry residents in the Northern New Jersey. You can sign up to be a volunteer and help with the pickup/delivery, or you can become a financial supporter. As well they host a Bag a Lunch fundraiser in October.
Bergen Family Center: They are Bergen County's oldest family service agency, which offers youth, adolescent, senior and counseling services. They offer volunteer opportunities that include tutoring, decorating/painting projects, or your business can become a corporate community partner. Volunteer Center of Bergen County: The Volunteer Center aims to strengthen the community by connecting people through all kinds of service. They offer various programs and ways to get involved listed here. Some of these include working with children, helping with service drives and they even have a volunteer database which lists all the volunteer opportunities in the area.
Center for Food Action: This organization relies on volunteers to help with most of their work. Some opportunities include hosting a food drive, offering administrative support, pantry/warehouse work or helping with special events held throughout the summer.
Family Promise of Bergen County: Family Promise is the only organization in Bergen County that provides services and shelter to working homeless families. There are opportunities to volunteer, donate and even programs geared towards kids volunteering.
